Los Alamos County’s Sustainability Manager Angelica Gurule invites all who live, work, or play in Los Alamos County to take part in an important community survey to help shape the future of electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure across the community. The survey can be accessed at lacnm.com/EVSurvey and will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025. Community feedback will directly inform decision-making around where to install new chargers and how to prioritize features such as accessibility, charging speed, and location types (e.g., parks, retail areas, or workplaces).

The survey is part of the broader Fleet Conversion Study and Community-Wide EV Charging
Plan, a joint effort by Los Alamos County and technical consultants to assess the County’s
readiness for electrification and identify optimal locations for EV charging stations.
“This is an opportunity for community members to help contribute to the development of
infrastructure needed to make a community-wide transition to electric vehicles easier and more
convenient,” said Gurule. “Your input will guide investments and policies that align with our
Climate Action Plan and support residents, commuters, and visitors alike in reducing carbon
emissions.”
The EV Charging Plan aims to:
 Identify and prioritize community charging needs
 Support County goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
 Ensure equitable access to EV infrastructure
 Complement the County’s vehicle fleet electrification efforts

The survey takes only a few minutes to complete and includes questions about driving and
charging habits, current barriers to EV adoption, and preferred charging locations. More
information about the survey and the project is available on the Fleet Conversion and EV
Charging Plan webpage. Results from the survey will be posted on the same site once available.
