ESPANOLA HEALING FOODS OASIS NEWS RELEASE
Come celebrate the Española Healing Foods Oasis‘s 9th year as a community garden and learning center!
Our opening ceremony will be at 8:30 am, then you’ll have a chance to visit the 1-gallon garden creation station, make seed balls and talk about seeds, and learn about what’s growing in the garden as well as future volunteer opportunities.
We’ve also got a poetry contest this year! Poems can be anything related to gardening, spending time outside, or environmental justice. We will have prizes for the three best poems.
You’ll have the option to do some gardening and planting if you’d like, so bring gloves, sunscreen, and sunglasses as well as a water bottle. We’ll have tools available for you to borrow.
This is a free event, open to everyone! No RSVP necessary, just come!
The garden is located behind Española City Hall (405 N Paseo de Onate) on the slope leading down to Valdez Park. Parking is available at the Española Public Library/Lucero Center lot, or on Vietnam Veterans Memorial Road adjacent to the park.
