
Janet Marlyn Goforth, born March 17, 1935, to Walter and Ethyl Bailey in Winfield, Kansas, passed away at the age of 90 on March 23, 2025, in Livermore, California.
Janet had been married to John Mark Goforth for 30 years until his passing in June 2022. They were married May 9, 1992, in Livermore, Alameda County, California. Anyone who knew Janet and John knew that this was a real love affair with deep affection and partnership between them.
Janet worked as an Executive Administrator in the Emergency Operations Center of the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico where she met John. They married in 1992. The Goforths moved to California in 2001.
Janet was a very talented violinist, singer, and actress who performed in many church and community organizations. Her real passion was for her family. Janet is survived by her four children Jim Stunkel, Marty Stunkel, Randy Stunkel, and Jennifer Farian, and John’s son, Philip Max Goforth. The entire extended family includes their spouses, 11 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
Janet and John will be buried at the Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos, NM.
