Los Alamos Police Department Det. Cindy Garcia accepts prescription drugs from a community member during the Department’s recent drug take-back day. There was a consistent flow of people with bags of items to drop off. This diversion program is a part of a national initiative by the DEA. The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the public about the potential for abuse of medications. LAPD has a drop-box located within the Department where community members may drop off their items if they were attend the April 26 event. For questions, contact Cpl.
