Los Alamos Choral Society Presents ‘A Choral Tapestry Echoes Of Belonging’ Sunday Afternoon At The United Church

LACS NEWS RELEASE

The Los Alamos Choral Society is presenting ‘A Choral Tapestry – Echoes of Belonging’ Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the United Church of Los Alamos’. The event is free but donations will be accepted.

The repertoire for the concert spans folk, opera, Broadway, spirituals, and pop—woven across generations and styles, a “Choral Tapestry”. There’s a strong elemental and spiritual undercurrent here: Zion’s Walls and Omnia Sol both carry a soulful, almost sacred tone, while the Effinger set (Basket, Wood, No Mark) is grounded in natural imagery and everyday humanity. Then, Yesterday and Nabucco add emotional depth, while OKLAHOMA! roots the concert in the land. Through it all we hear connecting themes of the universal desire to belong—somewhere, to someone, or to something greater, the “Echoes of Belonging.”

The concert will be directed by Derek Gilmour and accompanied by Cindy Little, and is expected to run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
