LAPD Spring DEA Drug Take-Back Day Is April 26

LAPD NEWS RELEASE

LAPD will be participating in the spring DEA Drug Take Back Day. The event will be held in the north parking lot (off Central Ave.) of the Los Alamos Police Department. Please follow the posted signs and drive through, to the take back boxes. Dispose of any trash or empty bottles before dropping off. Labels on bottles do not have to be removed, however if you prefer to remove them, please do so beforehand. Supplies available to dispose of liquids and creams, however, sharps and aerosols will NOT be accepted.

This drug diversion program is a part of a national initiative by the DEA. The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the public about the potential for abuse of medications.

Remember LAPD does have a drop-box located within the Department, if you cannot stop by on April 26. For questions, contact Evidence Cpl. Samantha Terrazas, at 505-663-1888.
