On Friday, April 4, the Pinon Combined Chess Club finished the last round of a four-part tournament. The Elementary team placed fifth and the High School team took third place. Their coach is Jeff Goettee with two awesome teaching coaches Ethan and Sean Pierce. These two teams are a combination of both homeschool and public school players who meet regularly to learn and practice their chess skills. The first picture is from the beginning of the tournament and the last is from Fridays tournament. Congratulations to both teams! 2025
