Richard A. Amies, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born on October 11, 1953 in Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles D. and Clarice C. Amies (Los Alamos, New Mexico), wife, Rhonda Amies, and his brother, Charles P. Amies (Las Vegas, NV).

Rick attended Los Alamos High School, but graduated from Roosevelt High School in Newton, Kansas.  He married his high school sweetheart, Rhonda Bowman, and enlisted in the US Army in the summer of 1979. He served in the Army until 1992, and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant E-5. After leaving the Army, Rick held numerous computer repair and security positions until his retirement in 2014. Rick enjoyed fishing and being with his family.

Rick was dedicated to his family and was a loving and kind husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and uncle. He will be dearly missed. 

Rick is survived by his brother Gregory Amies (Deborah Newberg) and sister Evelyn Amies Swiss (David Swiss); his two daughters, Julie Amies and Sonya Shoisee; and his two grandchildren, Christopher Aguilar and Aleesiah Amies.
