Extreme cold weather is hitting Los Alamos beginning today. Make sure you are prepared! Follow these basic tips during the storm to keep your family safe:

• Stay INDOORS during the storm

• WALK CAREFULLY on snowy, icy walkway

• Avoid OVEREXERTION when shoveling snow

• Keep dry. Change WET CLOTHING frequently

• Beware of FROSTBITE

• Beware of HYPOTHERMIA

• DRIVE only if it is absolutely necessary

• Conserve FUEL
