Are you curious about the plan for an outdoor classroom located between Mesa Public Library and the Betty Ehart Senior Activity Center? The Library Board’s January meeting included a presentation by Lloyd and Associates Architects of a draft design for this space. An outdoor classroom will enable library services to be safely offered in open areas when needed and will expand the types of programs and services that can be offered. It will also foster collaboration with Betty Ehart Senior Activity Center and other community partners.

We invite you to view the presentation, which starts at 1:30 into the recording. You can also download the presentation slides.

Keep an eye out for more information and opportunities to provide feedback on the design! Have something you’d like to share now? Email the Library Board members at lb@lacnm.us.

January’s meeting also included a discussion of the Library Board’s work plan. This plan outlines how the Board will achieve its purpose of receiving input from the public in order to make recommendations in support of the Library’s mission: to enrich our unique community with excellent customer service, knowledgeable staff, dedicated partnerships, welcoming spaces, and diverse resources. We welcome suggestions for how best to work with our community. The work plan will be finalized at the February meeting.
