Multiple Los Alamos Fire Department units responded in bitterly cold temperatures early Sunday morning to a fire that broke out at the 157 Central Park Square in downtown Los Alamos. Firefighters were operating on the front and back sides of the building. Nobody was injured. No damage can be observed on the outside of the building.

“I’m not sure right now if we can deem it a kitchen fire but the investigator is on the way right now. When we got here, there was obvious smoke coming out of the right on the outside, so it was a working structure fire,” LAFD Capt. Raymond Barela told the Reporter at the scene. “We pulled attack lines, went interior for primary search and fire attack and located scene of the fire and got knowed down on it. That’s where we’re at right now.”

More information will be released as it becomes available.
