STEP UP GALLERY NEWS RELEASE

There are only a few days left to see the “Eye Contact” exhibit of photographs by Tony Jackson at Step Up Gallery at Mesa Public Library. The collection of large format photographs has made a big impression on viewers to the gallery since it opened, with comments ranging from “What an eye!” to “This work is incredible! Wow.”

“Eye Contact” will close December 31.

Tony has picked out beautiful worn things from an otherwise barren landscape, and brought them to life with his unique vision. His photographs highlight twisted and gnarled wood, layers of volcanic ash, and tiny desert flowers, portrayed with attention and care. In his gallery talk from the opening reception for Eye Contact, he talks about the way his perception of beauty in  the landscape is enhanced when he photographs it. The talk can be seen on Step Up Gallery’s YouTube channel, at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOo_I0SkWAY

Step Up Gallery is proud to host ten new exhibitions in the coming year, beginning with “Strange Magic: The Art of Alexis Palmaffy” opening Jan. 7, 2025.
