100 MEN WHO CARE NEWS RELEASE
Executive Director Bernadette Lauritzen of Champions of Youth Ambitions (C’YA), presented her funding proposal to 100 Men Who Care Los Alamos at their Dec. 12 event at SALA Event Center.
At this event, the group also heard from Friends of Bandelier and Dance Arts Los Alamos. The event was attended by 23 men who selected C’YA as the recipient. C’YA received $2,500 in donations, with more expected from members who couldn’t attend the event.
The event was sponsored by Los Alamos Children’s Dentistry with administrative support from the Los Alamos Community Foundation. To send donations to the winning organization, please mail a check to Champions of Youth Ambitions, PO Box 4741, White Rock, NM 87547.
100 Men Who Care Los Alamos meets quarterly for a 30-minute social time with simple food and drink, and to hear three pre-selected organizations make a five- minute presentation. The group then votes on the organization with the most compelling need and each member writes a check for $100 (or more) directly to the selected organization.
Non-profit organizations interested in presenting to 100 Men Who Care Los Alamos, or men who would like to join the organization can contact 100menwhocarelosalamos@gmail.com.
