Five-year-old Macie Rice was announced as the winner of Los Alamos County’s “Snowplow Truck Naming Contest” on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 4:30 p.m. Rice received a $100 gift certificate from the snow removal team within the County’s Traffic and Streets Division in recognition of her winning entry, “Snow Way.”

The contest, launched during the Trick-or-Treat MainStreet event on Oct. 25, drew more than 150 name suggestions. Rice’s submission was selected by the snow removal team for its creativity.

“Snow Way” made its debut appearance driving down Central Avenue later that evening during the annual Holiday Light Parade.
