Weather permitting, natural gas line work on Quartz Street is scheduled from Monday, Dec. 9 through Friday, Dec. 27. Natural gas crews from Dub-L-EE, contractor of the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU), will be digging up a gas line to move it into the road.
Through-traffic will not be allowed in the work zone, which is along the curve at the east end of Quartz Street where it changes to 4th Street. Instead, drivers should follow detour signs at 6th Street and Rim Road.
The work is scheduled weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drivers are reminded to slow down, drive cautiously and follow detours.
