LALBC NEWS RELEASE
We would like to publicly share our letter sent to the County Council today to thank them for listening and to seek proactive engagement on improving the local business environment.
Dear Los Alamos County Council,
On behalf of the Los Alamos Local Business Coalition and the many community members who voiced their concerns, we sincerely thank you for voting no on the proposed purchase of the Diamond Drive properties. Your 5-2 decision shows your commitment to listening to your constituents and prioritizing transparency, public engagement, and fiscal responsibility.
We appreciate the thoughtful consideration you gave to the letters, petitions, public comments, and concerns shared by the community. This decision restores confidence in the collaborative relationship between the council and the residents of Los Alamos.
We recognize that we all have the same goal, to increase the growth and sustainability of various local small businesses. We would appreciate working together on how the County can bring life to its goals for improving the local business environment. Consider us a ready resource for getting a local business perspective. We will be working on ideas about how to improve the local business environment and results. Please consider this our request to engage to work together proactively to make this part of our community all it can be. We think that the County’s need for a social services hub facility could present opportunities for creative solutions that not only fulfill that need but could help improve the business environment in the process. What we don’t know yet is how to engage the County in meaningful discussion about our ideas. How should we proceed?
Thank you for your service and for valuing the voices of those you represent.
