The Dixon Players
The Dixon Players are at it again, preparing to present another “Blast from the Past” show at the Dixon Toolshed. Do you remember sock hops dancing to Elvis, your 1950s Pontiac or the I Love Lucy show? If you’re not in your late 70’s you won’t, but the 1950s was a pivotal decade introducing TV and Rock & Roll, so now is your chance to experience it through news, songs and TV images in “The Fabulous 50s Revue!” We are limiting ticket sales to 60 seats per show to make room for a dance floor, so make sure to purchase tickets early online at http://www.dixonplayers.com. Tickets will be available at the door half an hour before the performance time.
This year we have an incredible band from Northern New Mexico area, headed by Rick De Stefano from Taos. Cindy Valerio, also from Taos, will be returning to sing some of her favorite Broadway show songs from the Golden Age of Broadway. Bear Schacht will be joining us again from Santa Fe where he recently was the male lead in Legally Blonde with Tri M Musical productions. The great trio and backup singers, Barbara Maliso, Marlene Grey and Nancy Ann Davis will perform “Lollipop” and “Mr. Sandman”–and back up many of the other soloists with their melodious harmonies. Marilyn Johns and Mary Hines will be returning and adding to the solo song list, as well.
Jeff Spicer will be the MC as Jack Benny, and David Rigsby will be returning as Edward Morrow the famous Newsman.
Whether it’s to relive some memories or just to enjoy some live, local theater, we hope you’ll join us at the Dixon Toolshed, December 6, 7 & 8, for this fabulous blast from the past!
