Arlys Frybarger, born Arlys Jeanette Beavers, passed away peacefully in her home with her
husband Jimmie by her side on November 25, 2024. She was a mother of 4 boys, a good wife,
a loving grandmother, and a special friend to many.
Arlys was born on a farm near Raymond, South Dakota on November 28, 1941. She was active
on the farm and in her community. Throughout her school years, she was a cheerleader, played
basketball, was in the glee club, and even drove the local “school bus.” She was proud of her
upbringing and carried the memories of life on the farm fondly.
In high school she met Jimmie Frybarger. They were married on October 20, 1962 and in the
same month moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota. After leaving North Dakota, they moved to Minneapolis MN (1965), Albuquerque NM (1966), Los Alamos NM (1970) and eventually back to Rio Rancho, NM (2004). Together they raised four sons Jim, Tim, Scott, and Todd.
Arlys enjoyed baking, reading, playing card games (especially bridge), bowling, making crafts,
and listening to country music. She was very active in the church’s work and enjoyed spending
time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Lobo Men’s Basketball and, of course, her
beloved Minnesota Vikings Football. She followed her sons and grandchildren’s athletics and
extracurricular activities from Little League baseball through Junior High and High School.
She is survived by her husband Jimmie, sons Jim, Tim (Wende), Scott (Lisa) and Todd, four
granddaughters Amber (Dustin), Dani (Austin), Michelle, and Katie; two great grandchildren
Leila and Cameron and expected great-granddaughter Marlowe. She is also survived by her
sister Lorna Baldwin of Rapid City, SD and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Dec. 7 at 11:00 AM at Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3900 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111.
She will be interred in Clark, SD near the family farm, joining the rest of her family.
