Los Alamos Retired & Senior Organization invites you and your family to join us in a heartfelt campaign to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our home-bound seniors. This holiday season we are introducing Build A Box – Feed A Senior, a community-focused initiative thataims to fill pantries with nourishing, shelf-stable meals. Help us sustain our seniors and show that our community cares for them.

Many of our cherished seniors face the dual challenges of isolation and food insecurity, particularly during the winter months. With each box you build, you are not just filling it
with food; you are sending a message of love and support to those who have contributed so much to our lives and communities.

Here’s how Build A Box works:

  1. Find a sturdy box, approximately 12×12 inches, to serve as your package.
  2. Fill the box with nutritious, shelf-stable items, such as canned vegetables, pasta, rice,
cereal, and other essentials that nourish our seniors.
  3. Securely tape the box closed and label it Build A Box. (Feel free to wrap it if you’d like!)
  4. Drop off your lovingly prepared box at either Senior Activity Center between Dec. 2 and Dec. 13.
  5. Every box you contribute will be personally delivered to our home-bound seniors during the week of Dec. 16, bringing food, warmth, hope, and community spirit.

This initiative is a chance for families to come together, share stories and laughter, and
create something that can profoundly impact someone in need. Consider involving your
children in this rewarding experience, teaching them the values of kindness and compassion as they assemble their boxes.

Let’s unite as a community to ensure our seniors feel cherished and supported this
holiday season. Your generosity can be the beacon of light they need, turning a simple
box of food into a heartwarming gesture of love.
