I have several questions and comments about the property that the county is looking at.
What makes the property worth 9.7 million dollars? If they keep the building then maybe, but I don’t think so. If they tear the building down then that would be 3.5 million per acre ( 3 lots, 2.79 acres). Even if you put a price tag on $500,000 on each the two empty lots, then you will be paying more then 8 million for the building and property. If you go the the property parcel viewer the actual value of all 3 properties only comes to 4.2 million. The county then would be paying twice the value of the property. And I don’t think inflation would increase it that much.
What is the actual plan for the property? All I read was maybe we will do this, or this, or this. I think a plan should be in place before any property is bought.
What will happen to all the businesses when their lease is up? To me this goes against trying to keep businesses in town.
Need less to say, I am against this purchase.
