On the morning of Wednesday October 23, a small group of family and friends of Hemaprava Devi, along with members of Friends of Los Alamos County Libraries (FLACL) board, gathered in the upper rotunda of Mesa Public Library in Los Alamos. Hemaprava’s life-long love of books and reading inspired her family to memorialize her with a plaque that was added to the FLACL Giving Wall, which reads “A mother whose love of books gifted us, her children, with the world of literature, history, and science”. Her son, Subrata Nath, spoke of just a few of the fond memories that inspired him with an adulthood filled with the love of learning.

This dedicated plaque joins the Giving Wall where so many others have honored their friends and family throughout the years.

FLACL is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization founded in 1978 and has expanded it’s funding to now provide annual grants in the tens of thousand of dollars for the county’s three libraries. To learn more, go to FLACL.org or email “manager@FLACL.org” for information on how you can participate.
