The Department of Public Utilities this morning was investigating the cause of a transmission outage that began late Sunday night and lasted until 1:40 a.m. Monday. DPU officials said all their linemen were called into work and immediately began patrolling and re-energizing to restore power. The outage affected the community of White Rock and Los Alamos National Laboratory
The Reporter reached out Monday morning to DPU and LANL after receiving reports of an ongoing outage at LANL and received the following statement Monday afternoon:
“Last night LANL experienced a power disruption on one 115 kV feeder circuit, which originated outside LANL’s system. The power disruption was likely caused by weather events yesterday evening. LANL and LAC operations, linemen, and engineering personnel responded and restored power to White Rock and northern Santa Fe after a four-hour outage. There was an unrelated power outage event at LANL today that has been fully resolved.”
