LAAC NEWS RELEASE
The Los Alamos Arts Council and N3B Los Alamos are pleased to announce that Pumpkin Glow 2024 is right around the corner! On Oct. 26 this annual event, featuring a full display of squash turned art, will kick off on the Fuller Lodge Lawn and is a beloved favorite during Halloweekend here in Los Alamos County.
With over 25 years behind us, we’re excited for this year’s Pumpkin Glow which will feature events throughout the day for all ages. Family friendly, and sure to delight, the Pumpkin Glow is a tradition all can enjoy and we won’t let this blustery fall weather hold us back.
The day starts at 10 a.m. with our annual carving party on the lawn at Fuller Lodge. Pumpkins are available, first come, first served, for children in attendance. Parents are encouraged to bring their own pumpkin along, or to purchase one on site from the Los Alamos Choirs Boosters and NJROTC Pumpkin Patch fundraiser. Carving kits and supplies will be provided. Please, one pumpkin per child so there are enough to go around! These pumpkins are the foundation for our evening glow and will be stashed by our staff to put out and enjoyed by all during the evening festivities.
From noon-3 p.m. the community is encouraged to deliver pumpkins of all shapes, sizes, and designs to be displayed during the glow. We will arrange and light the pumpkins at dusk, you just need to drop them off! If you want your pumpkin back after the event, please plan to pick them up between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. or they’ll be composted.
From 5PM-6PM we will have our second annual “Pumpkin Toddle”. This is the perfect chance to bring the littlest pumpkin lovers, or those who want a less spooky after dark experience to wander through and enjoy the pumpkins.
Starting at 6 p.m. the pumpkins will be in full glow mode! Visitors are encouraged to make the loop around the lawn and admire the various works of gourd-geous art.
We hope you will all join us for this fall favorite.
A special thanks to N3B Los Alamos for Sponsoring this event for the second year in a row! Without the generous support of their organization, we would not have as much glow to go around.
