The Leadership Los Alamos program proudly announces the commencement of its 2024-2025 class, which officially kicked off with an inspiring introductory session held on September 13 and 14. This year’s cohort, composed of enthusiastic participants from various sectors of the community, gathered for a weekend filled with team-building activities, insightful discussions, and personal growth.
Facilitated by Matthew Maez and Lukas Cash from Art & Avenue Consultants, the session focused on the essential characteristics of high-performing teams and the foundational principles of servant leadership. Participants engaged in a series of interactive exercises designed to foster collaboration, build trust, and enhance communication skills among classmates.
“The introductory session was an incredible way for our new class to connect and begin developing the skills necessary for effective leadership,” said Kirsten Bell, Program Chair of Leadership Los Alamos. “Matthew and Lukas brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, guiding participants through valuable lessons that will serve them throughout the program and beyond.”
The session also emphasized the philosophical ideas of servant leadership, encouraging participants to reflect on their roles as leaders within their communities. By prioritizing the needs of others and fostering a culture of collaboration, the group aims to create a lasting positive impact in Los Alamos.
As the 2024-2025 Leadership Los Alamos class progresses, participants will engage in various activities, including workshops, community service projects, and networking events, all aimed at developing their leadership skills and enhancing their understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities facing the Los Alamos community.

Through collaboration, education, and hands-on experiences, the program prepares participants to tackle the complexities of leadership in today’s dynamic environment.
