The Los Alamos Historical Society invites you to a unique evening of history for “The General & the Genius: A Grandson’s Perspective,” a fundraising event dedicated to the restoration of the historic cottage where Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer lived during the Manhattan Project.
Join us on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at La Fonda on the Plaza, located at 100 E. San Francisco Street, Santa Fe, NM. This 95-year-old cottage is a national treasure, and aim to raise $2 million to transform it into a gallery that will comprehensively narrate the life and legacy of Dr. Oppenheimer, both during and after the Manhattan Project.
The evening will feature distinguished speakers:
Jim Kunetka, author of The General and the Genius
Dick Groves, grandson of General Leslie R. Groves
Alan Carr, LANL Senior Historian
