Local playwright Robert F. Benjamin is directing two performances of “Grampy’s Oatmeal,” a short comedy featuring a sassy school girl struggling to understand her grandfather’s quirky beliefs. These live readings are free and open to the public. No reservations are necessary, so bring your friends and family to enjoy some local theater! (The performances are sponsored by Los Alamos Little Theater and the Senior Activities.)

1:15-2:00 pm Tuesday, October 8, at White Rock Senior Activity Center
1:15-2:00 pm Thursday, October 10, at Betty Ehart Senior Activity Center.

The intergenerational comedy will be followed by an audience talkback and Q&A with the cast and playwright. This play explores the value of whimsy and eccentricity through a dialogue between two very different generations. Abbie Johnson plays the role of the school girl, while Eric Bjorklund plays her idiosyncratic grandfather.

October is National Arts & Humanities Month– a collective recognition of the importance of culture in America. LARSO is pleased to offer programs like Live Theater to support the positive impact of the arts on our older adults, who enrich our community with their creativity, skill, and knowledge.
