PEEC NEWS RELEASE

The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) has announced a new time for its weekly, complimentary planetarium Sky Show. Starting immediately, the show will be held at 4 p.m., rather than its previous time of 3 p.m., every Wednesday.

The community is invited to join PEEC for an engaging and informative experience in the planetarium, led by one of its knowledgeable astronomers.

The program will kick off with a captivating 15-minute Planetarium Show, followed by an interactive Q&A session where attendees can ask questions and request specific topics. This is a wonderful opportunity to expand one’s understanding of the universe in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

In addition to the planetarium show, PEEC offers a variety of free weekly events for all ages:

  • For families, Nature Playtime, 10-11 a.m. Mondays, provides toddlers, preschoolers and caregivers the opportunity to explore the natural world through play and sensory activities;
  • PEEC’s Reptiles Program, 11:15-11:45 a.m. Mondays, invites attendees to discover resident reptiles and learn about their care and habitat; feel free to ask questions about the animal exhibits;
  • Birding with Bob is 10 p.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesdays. Meet bird expert Robert Walker in the Observation Room, ask questions and enjoy the view;
  • Happy Ramblers is 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursdays, at the Betty Ehart Center; and
  • Gentle Walks is 9-11 a.m., Fridays at the Los Alamos Nature Center, emphasizing observation and discovery in nature.
