I am sending this as a citizen, not as a county councilor.
Late last week, on Friday, September 20, I think, my husband Scott put up the Martin Heinrich sign on Trinity. Just a few days later, on Monday, we noticed it was down. Scott went to put it back up on Tuesday morning and found that it had been intentionally cut. The strings through the grommets were still tied to the post just as he had put them there, but the top two corners had been cut with something like an Exacto knife.
I feel compelled to send these to you in order to get the word out that there are no squeaky clean wheels on this matter.
It frustrates me when some people jump to conclusions and make hyperbolic statements and assumptions about who might be responsible for such vandalism acts.
We clearly have an issue in this space here in Los Alamos but finger-pointing to one political party or another is unhelpful.
Editor’s note: Local Republican Party Chair Lisa Shin has not shared news releases or columns with the Reporter since 2022, therefore the Reporter did not receive Shin’s report and photos published in the Los Alamos Daily Post on damage to Republican candidates’ signs.
