County Library Board Provides Update For September 2024

COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

Following another successful Atomicon at the end of August, library programming continues to
offer up something fun for everyone. Are you a Dungeons & Dragons enthusiast? Join a 6-week
campaign starting Sept. 24. Or maybe art is more your style? Stop by the Step Up Gallery, which will be opening a new exhibit at the end of the month. And we can’t forget all the bookworms in Los Alamos County! Drop by the upper rotunda of Mesa Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month for Silent Library Club.

In addition to activities inside the library, it’s hard to miss the activity going on outside the library. The current phase of Bathtub Row construction should only last a few weeks, and we
encourage all community members and library patrons to exercise caution when navigating the
temporary road changes and parking disruptions. Let’s keep everyone safe! Some less visible
outside activities are the ongoing plans for the outdoor classroom. Staff will be meeting with
architects later this month to review the second iteration of designs for what will undoubtedly be a valuable addition to Mesa Public Library.

The next Library Board meeting will be Oct. 7, 2024 at the Municipal Building and on Zoom. Please send email to the Library Board at lb@lacnm.us if you have questions or suggestions. This email will reach all board members: Frances Knudson, Beth Stelle, Brian Reardon, Sarah
Work and Michele Altherr.
