LACF NEWS RELEASE
The Los Alamos County Council recently proclaimed August 17, 2024 National Nonprofit Day in Los Alamos. Pat Soran, President of the Los Alamos Community Foundation, was honored to accept the proclamation on behalf of Los Alamos nonprofit organizations.
“Our community is filled with people who are passionate about helping each other, making our community more vibrant, and celebrating what makes Los Alamos special. It is important that we recognize their efforts, and to celebrate and acknowledge the staff and volunteers that make our nonprofits successful,” said Pat Soran. “There are over 150 Nonprofit organizations enriching the Los Alamos community by providing nursing care, food security, counseling, art and music programs, history preservation, and so much more.”
“National Nonprofit Day celebrates the positive impacts that these organizations have on our community. We encourage people to use this as an opportunity to show their appreciation to nonprofits of their choice.” says Liz Martineau, Executive Director for the Los Alamos Community Foundation.
