A Day with Santa Fe Authors: Memoir and Mystery is a fundraising event, held in association with the Partners in Education Foundation for the Santa Fe Public Schools.
The beneficiary, Reading Quest, is a local non-profit organization whose mission is to “support children who are having trouble reading become strong, enthusiastic readers.”
The purpose of this event is to raise funds for Reading Quest while connecting Santa Fe booklovers with local authors whose memoirs and mysteries they have enjoyed over the years.
The keynote speaker is Anne Hillerman, author of nine New York Times best-selling mysteries and daughter of mystery writer Tony Hillerman.
The day will include two half-day sessions – the morning devoted to memoir, the afternoon to mystery. Each session will include presentations by four women authors reading from their works and discussing why they write, their writing life, and obstacles they have faced as authors.
During each session, the audience will be encouraged to ask questions. The dialogue will continue during lunch as the audience and authors chat over gourmet box lunches. At designated times throughout the day, the authors will inscribe their books.
