The success of the movie premier of “Oppenheimer” at SALA last year and all the activities at the event center that brought in community members, dignitaries and visitors, inspired SALA owner Allan Saenz to host the 2024 Oppenheimer Festival there from Aug. 10 through Aug. 31.

Saenz said the month-long celebration is dedicated to honor the legacy of J. Robert Oppenheimer and the Manhattan Project in Los Alamos where history was made.

“The festival will include a blend of films, documentaries, lectures, interactive activities and historic tours – all of which will provide an opportunity to visitors and the community alike to gain a deeper understanding of the pivotal moments and the key figures involved in the development of the atomic bomb,” Saenz said.
