RATcracker On ‘The Hill’ Auditions Set For Saturday, Aug. 24

You are invited to audition for Dance Arts Los Alamos’ 2024 community production of RATcracker on “The Hill”! Auditions will be on Saturday, Aug. 24 at DALA’s White Rock Studios. All experience levels are welcome! There will be parts for ballet dancers, swing dancers, modern dancers, jazz dancers and more! Ages 3-adults are welcome to audition. You must be 3 by Sept. 1 in order to participate. 

RATcracker on “The Hill” is Jonathan Guise’s original Ballet combining elements of the traditional Nutcracker with Los Alamos history and the Manhattan project. It is co-sponsored by the Los Alamos Historical Society and is the sequel to Nutcracker on “The Hill”, the Dorothy Woodward Award winning original Ballet. Performances for RATcracker on “The Hill” will be Friday, Dec. 6 at 7pm, Saturday, Dec. 7 at 2pm, and Sunday, Dec. 8 at 2pm. You must be able to make all the performances in order to audition. 

Auditions will be at DALA’s White Rock Studios on Saturday, Aug. 24. Please show up at the corresponding time to your age group (listed below). You should wear dance attire and shoes, with hair pulled back professionally. 

  • Ages 3-4 (must be 3 by Sept 1st) = 9:30-9:50 am, $75 audition fee
  • Ages 5-6 (must be 5 by Sept 1st) = 10:00-10:30 am, $175 audition fee
  • Ages 7-9 (must be 7 by Sept 1st) = 10:30-11:15 am, $175 audition fee
  • Ages 10-12 (bring pointe shoes if you have them) = 11:30-12:15 pm, $175 audition fee 
  • Ages 13-17 (bring pointe shoes if you have them) = 12:30-1:30 pm, $175 audition fee
  • Advanced Ballet 4/5  (with pointe shoes if you have them) = 1:45-2:45 pm, $175 audition fee
  • Adults ages 18+ = 3:00-4:00 pm, $175 audition fee

Please fill out this electronic waiver form prior to the audition. Every dancer must have a waiver filled out at the time of audition. 

The Performance Fee will be $75 for ages 3-4. The Performance Fee will be $175 for ages 5-adult. The Performance Fee is due at the time of auditions. Ages 3-17 are required to be registered for at least 1 class with DALA during the fall semester. Ages 18+ are recommended to be registered for 1 class with DALA during the fall semester.
