If you’ve ever wondered what happens after we die, you’ll likely be intrigued by “The Explaining Room.” However, don’t expect to have all your questions answered.

This clever and amusing short play by Taos playwright Helen Rynaski will be performed as a staged reading at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at the White Rock Senior Activity Center (in the studio) and 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, July  25, at the Betty Ehart Senior Activity Center (classroom). There is no cost for admission.

“The Explaining Room” explores the unexpected connection between two recently departed women in a somewhat unanticipated arena.

Directed by Pat Beck and featuring Terry Beery and Kelly Dolejsi, with sound provided by Ken Milder, the readings are part of the ongoing partnership among the Senior Centers, Los Alamos Little Theatre, and playwright Robert Benjamin to bring live theater in enjoyable snippets every few months to the senior community.

The readings are intended not only to be entertaining, but also to spark conversation about issues of interest not only to seniors but to all citizens of the Earth. All are welcome.
