Several Los Alamos Young Guns athletes competed at the New Mexico High School State Competition at the Whittington Center in Raton last month. Listed below are their impressive scores and placing in the various competitions.

Ana Schmitz got her hat shot for a 75 straight, bracelet for 2nd place in Trap Handicap, and medal for 4th place in Trap singles.

Matthew Nowell got his hat shot for 75 straight.

Kadin Hansell got his hat shot for a 75 straight.

After two long days of competition athletes enjoyed a team dinner hosted by parents. They then participated in a dance fundraiser for another athlete. Athletes still competed on Sunday and then attended the awards ceremony.

Coach Vernon Vigil and former Los Alamos Young Guns athlete Alyssa Vigil (father and daughter) tied for the Coaches’ Shoot, each shooting a 25 straight.
