The Los Alamos County Public Works Department announces an asphalt core drilling operation scheduled on Central Avenue between 15th Street and Oppenheimer Drive. The drilling will take place 10 a.m. to noon Friday, June 28.

Motorists should expect minor delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes during this time. A flagging operation to manage and direct traffic flow will be in place. Pedestrians are asked to exercise caution and follow all posted signs and instructions.

The drilling site will be clearly marked, and barriers will be in place to ensure the safety of both the workers and the public.

“We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we undertake these necessary assessments. The data gathered from this core drilling will help us improve our infrastructure and ensure the continued safety and well-being of our residents,” Engineering Project Manager Justin Gibson said.
