SALA Los Alamos Event Center is thrilled to announce an exciting lineup of films and community events happening this week. From heart-rending tales to classic cinema, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus delivers a profoundly moving performance as a mother who, alongside her teenage daughter (Lola Petticrew), must confront Death when it arrives in the form of an astonishing talking bird. Directed by debut filmmaker Daina O. Pusić, Tuesday is a heart-rending fairy tale about the echoes of loss and finding resilience in the unexpected.

Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. Featuring voices by Maya Hawke, Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Tony Hale, and Liza Lapira. Directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen.

Dementia Man: An Existential Journey Friday at 7 PM

 Dementia Man: An Existential Journey is the award-winning autobiographical story by actor and playwright Samuel A. Simon. This full-length theatrical piece explores Simon’s personal experience with Alzheimer’s disease, presenting a powerful narrative that challenges audiences to envision a meaningful future for those with neurocognitive diseases, focusing on accommodation and adaptation.

Suspicion Saturday at 6:30 PM

 Cary Grant stars as charming scoundrel Johnnie Aysgarth, who woos and marries wealthy Lina McLaidlaw (Joan Fontaine). The suspicious death of his friend and business partner, Beaky (Nigel Bruce), makes Lina fear for her own life.
