Santa Fe National Forest has issued an updated closure order and map for the Indios Fire, Santa Fe National Forest – Order Number: 03-10-01-24-03
As of Thursday evening, the fire had consumed 6,649 acres. The purpose of this Order is to protect public health and safety and the safety of the general public and all personnel working the fire.
DESCRIBED AREA/ROADS/TRAILS
* Specifically, the Described Area includes all National Forest System lands within the boundary of the Coyote Ranger District starting from the Continental Divide trail #298 at Highway 96 going north across Forest Road 77, through the Chama River Canyon Wilderness to Skull Bridge (Ojitos Trail head) on Forest Road 151.
* Forest Road 8 from the Forest Boundary and State Highway 96 north to the Chama River Wilderness boundary at Forest Road 8Z;
* Forest Road 77 from the Forest boundary and County Road 418 east to the Chama River Canyon Wilderness boundary.
* The Chama River Canyon Wilderness south of Rio Gallina and south of Rio Chama.
* Fire Camp 103, including Forest Service lands surrounding Forest Road 103 from the junction of State Highway 96 to the CDT trail; and Forest Service Lands surrounding Forest Road 76 from Forest Road 103 junction to 1000 yards west and south to the Continental Divide Trail.
This Order shall be in effect from May 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. through December 31, 2024, at 12:00 a.m., unless rescinded.
