LIVE IN LOS ALAMOS NEWS RELEASE
Melissa Carper and her special guest, Theo Lawrence, will be the first musicians to play a
concert at Pueblo Canyon Inn. At least that’s what owners Matthew and Elizabeth Allen recall.
The Inn’s previous owners were the original sponsors of Live in Los Alamos, the nonprofit that
promotes musicians visiting our community, and the Allens have enthusiastically continued that
support. The caliber of talent that Carper and Lawrence bring ensures that the show will be
remembered for reasons beyond being the first at the Inn.
Melissa Carper is on tour in support of her forthcoming album, her fifth, and while reviews are
not yet in on that release, her 2022 release Ramblin Soul came in at #23 on Rolling Stone
magazine’s top 25 Country/American albums that year. This isn’t her trip up The Hill. Carper
played bass behind another Americana standout, Brennan Leigh, when she played at Fuller
Lodge in 2022. Carper enjoyed their reception in Los Alamos so much that insisted her
manager find a way for her to return to our town.
Inspired by the blues, soul and pop of the 1960’s,Theo Lawrence hails from the suburbs of
Paris, but now calls Austin home. He released his third solo album, Cherie, to add to the three
albums he cut with his band, The Hearts. The influences of a diverse cast of artists, (Marty
Robbins, Johnny Paycheck and Willie Nelson) can be heard on a listen to Cherie.
Doors at Pueblo Canyon Inn will open at 6:30 pm when pre-ordered dinners, as well as beer
and wine service become available for an additional cost. Music will start at 7:30 pm. $20
tickets can be purchased at Los Alamos Schools Credit Union (cash or check), or on-line with a
