
Hubbell Trading Post is back at Bandelier National Monument this weekend for the first time since 2019. The event continues on Sunday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features hundreds of handcrafted Navajo rugs and jewelry from the Trading Post. Weaving demonstrations by Tonita Yazzie (above) and rug talks by Navajo trader Wallace James, Jr. at 11 a.m. and 2 p,m. are part of the event. Western National Parks Association, a nonprofit education partner of the National Park Service, supports parks across the West, developing products, services, and programs that enhance the visitor experience, understanding, and appreciation of national parks. Visitors on Sunday will continue to experience the culture and heritage of the Navajo people with hundreds of handcrafted Navajo rugs and jewelry straight from Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site, a Western National Parks Association partner park and the oldest continuously operating trading post in the Southwest.
