Piñon Elementary hosted a highly successful Bike to School event Wednesday, with an impressive turnout of 92 participants. The event aimed to promote physical activity and encourage environmental consciousness among students and families.
The highlight of the morning was the warm welcome from Piñon Elementary’s mascot, who greeted the children as they arrived, spreading cheer and excitement. In addition to the school mascot, enthusiastic school staff and members of the Los Alamos Count Public Works Staff were also on hand to welcome the participants.
To make the event even more special, all participants were given a bag filled with swag as a token of appreciation for their participation in the Bike to School event and their commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Parents and students alike enjoyed the beautiful weather and the opportunity to start the day with some exercise. County Engineer, Eric Ulibarri expressed his delight with the event, saying, “It’s wonderful to see so many students and families choosing to bike to school. Not only does it promote a healthy lifestyle, but also helps reduce traffic congestion around the school, improving safety for everyone.”
The event was a great success and is part of Piñon Elementary’s ongoing commitment to promoting physical activity and environmental stewardship among its students and families.
