PAC NEWS RELEASE

For the 4th consecutive year, PAC 8 will be teaming up with the Los Alamos Teen Center, the Youth Activity Center and Fuller Lodge Art Center, to offer the Summer Film Intensive. Open to youth ages 13-18, this 3 week program will take participants through all of the steps in the process of creating an original short film – screen writing, camera operation, production planning and location shooting, acting, editing, and numerous other aspects of the film process. Students will write, produce, and star in multiple original short films for entry in a statewide youth film contest.

The cost to put on the program is over $1500/student. Suggested family contribution is $700/student. Scholarships up to 100% are available, no student will be refused for financial reasons. In 2023, the class was an even mix of students paying full cost, students with partial scholarships, and students on full scholarships. The program is being made possible by generous donations and a grant from the Delle Foundation.

This year the SFI will be held on June 24-28, July 1-3 and July 8-12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will take place at PAC 8 and the Teen Center. The link to register is https://forms.gle/4jkX3aYXatFQyG3J9
