LIVE IN LOS ALAMOS NEWS RELEASE

Live in Los Alamos’ Jonathan Lathrop is promising “a mother of a show” on Sunday, May 12 at Fuller Lodge. Folks Root Radio calls Lynne Hanson “Canada’s own queen of Americana,” and just weeks ahead of the release of her ninth studio album, she will bring an incredible body of work to draw from for her performance. The “mother of a show” reference is, of course, a reference to the holiday the show falls on, but also because guitar wizard Blair Hogan was added to the show as well. The duo produce a mesmerizing sound together and receive rave reviews for their live performances.

“Too tough for folk and too blues-influenced for country, Lynne Hanson’s brand of porch music with a little red dirt can turn on a dime from a sunshine, blue sky ballad to a full on thunderstorm of gritty Americana swamp from one song to the next,” is the way her music is described on the artist’s website. Critics often draw comparisons to Lucinda Williams and Gillian Welch and seem to agree that Hanson is one of the best songwriters around today. The melodic sensibility that Blair Hogan is able to add to songs with his guitar work ensures attendees will feel and hear the beauty of that writing.

Mothers not wanting to be away from their family on Mother’s Day can bring their kids along for free, but the audience is expected to be quiet at Live in Los Alamos shows out of respect to the artists.

Doors at Fuller Lodge will open at 6:00 pm when dinner and beer and wine service becomes available for an additional cost. Music will start at 7:00 pm. $25 tickets can be purchased at Los Alamos Schools Credit Union (cash or check), or on-line with a $3.50 service fee.

Admission at the door is $30. All information can be found at http://www.liveinlosalamos.com. Live in Los Alamos is a nonprofit organization established in 2015 and will be producing its 32nd show. It is sustained by support from Pueblo Canyon Inn, Amicus Tax and Accounting, LLC – Anthony W Belletete CPA, as well as individual sponsors.
