COUNTY NEWS RELEASE
The Los Alamos Public Library is pleased to host Los Alamos County’s new County Manager, Anne Laurent, for an evening of conversation and discussion on Thursday, March 21 from 6:30 to 7:30pm. As part of the evening’s conversation, Anne will tell the story of her career, her vision for Los Alamos County, and answer questions about the challenges and successes of being a woman in the workplace, in leadership, and in the public eye.
This event is part of the Los Alamos Public Library’s Community Steward series of discussions with local experts and leaders. As March is Women’s History Month, many of the topics of discussion will focus on the world and experiences from a woman’s perspective.
With degrees in architecture and public administration, Anne Laurent’s trajectory in public service began in Arizona and Michigan before coming to Los Alamos County in 2008. Here, she has overseen many public works and building projects including the Municipal Building, the Justice Center, the Animal Shelter, the White Rock Visitor’s Center, the White Rock Branch Library and Youth Activity Center, and many more. In 2021, Anne became Deputy County Manager, and in March of 2024 she took on the role of County Manager after Steve Lynne’s retirement. Anne will discuss the challenges and successes around being a woman in the workplace, in leadership, and in the public eye.
This event is free and open to the public. As there is limited seating in Mesa Public Library, attendees must register in advance. For information about the event, to register, or for more information about the library, please visit LosAlamosLibrary.org.
