LAHS Athlete Jaiya Daniels Featured In KOAT Segment In Honor Of Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month, KOAT (Channel 7, Albuquerque) celebrated Los Alamos High School track and field athlete Jaiya Daniels in a segment that first aired at 5 p.m. Friday. KOAT is celebrating “the contributions , sacrifices, and legacy of courageous African-Americans in society, culture and history.”

The accompanying article, at the same link, was written by KOAT reporter Faith Egbuonu who visited Los Alamos January 17 and interviewed Jaiya and her mother, Luckie Daniels at their home. Egbuonu and photojournalist Floyd Moya later watched and filmed Jaiya as she trained at Sullivan Field.
