TOTH NEWS RELEASE

Join Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church at 3900 Trinity Drive for their free Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 13. Community members are invited to enjoy good food and fellowship while listening to Jan McDonald and his brass quintet playing live jazz from 6-7 p.m.

Ash Wednesday is always immediately preceded by Shrove Tuesday, also known as Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras. The tradition of a pancake supper comes from the old English custom of using up the fattening ingredients in the house to prepare for fasting during Lent.

There will be plain pancakes as well as gluten-free, all the toppings for the pancakes, sausage, fruit salad, and drinks. During the free event, Trinity on the Hill will collect donations to benefit LA Cares.

The mission of Trinity on the Hill is to share the power and joy of God’s love, to fully embrace all God’s children, and to respond to the needs of our community and the world in the spirit of Jesus Christ. Visit our website at latoth.org.
