Event Canceled: Los Alamos JJAB Executive Director Rachel Mohr-Richards To Speak At Feb. 15 LWV Lunch With A Leader

Event canceled and will be rescheduled.

The next Lunch with a Leader event is set for 12 p.m. to 1 pm. Feb. 15 at the Unitarian Church of Los Alamos. This is a community event hosted by the League of Women Voters for the community. The leader will be Rachel Mohr-Richards, the Executive Director of the Los Alamos Juvenile Justice Advisory Board.  JJAB is a nonprofit organization that funds 15 programs for youth and their families in Los Alamos. 

Rachel was born and raised in Jackson, Michigan, where she met her husband, Andrew. They moved to New Mexico in 2014 and have two children, Amelia and Simon, as well as a dog named Sophie.  Prior to joining JJAB, Rachel worked in the state child welfare systems in Michigan and New Mexico for eight years.  She held positions as a Children’s Protective Services Investigator, Placement Worker and Placement Supervisor.  Her last position at the Children Youth and Families Department was as a Child Placement Agency Specialist, where she licensed all the treatment foster care agencies and community homes in the state of New Mexico. 

Rachel joined JJAB in 2020 as a Resource Specialist and became the first ever Resource Specialist Program Manager in 2021.  She became Executive Director in January 2023, and has facilitated JJAB in carrying out its mission of providing programs to the children, youth and families of Los Alamos that build resiliency.  In her spare time, Rachel enjoys traveling, reading mystery novels, teaching Pilates and spending time with her family.
