Following a thorough application and interview process, the Los Alamos County Administrative Services Department is pleased to announce Melissa Dadzie as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the County, effective December 24, 2023.
After posting the job announcement nation-wide this fall, the County interviewed four highly qualified individuals last month. Dadzie, who was serving as the Interim CFO, rose to the top.
Former CFO and now Administrative Services Director, Helen Perraglio, reflects that, “the role of the County CFO holds a tremendous amount of responsibility for all finance related matters for our county government, and we couldn’t be in better hands than with someone as dedicated, knowledgeable and professional as Melissa. We are thrilled that she was our top candidate.”
Melissa has been a key team member in the Finance Division over the past six years, serving as Deputy CFO and then as Interim CFO. She is a Certified Government Financial Manager and holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, as well as a Master of Accountancy. Melissa has over 18 years of extensive experience in government finance operations, which includes examining operations and procedures, formulating policies, and developing and implementing new strategies to better serve the needs of the County. In addition, she has extensive experience with audit management, ERP implementations in Finance, and has been integral in maintaining and earning the County multiple GFOA awards.
