A Barbershop extravaganza featuring the Lasses and Lads of Enchantment and the Santa Fe Harmonizers is set for Friday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. at the United Church of Los Alamos, with a second show Saturday, Jan. 27 at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Santa Fe.
The 2-hour show called, “I Believe in Music,” will feature 2 choruses, 3 regional barbershop quartets and Sound Check, a silver/bronze medal winning quartet from Salt Lake City.
When the barbershop event was cancelled, their guest quartet used their new found free time to visit several school classrooms. Sound Check members Mark Andromidas, Jimmy Schofield and the dynamic duo of twins, Blair and Brian Dowd brought the barbershop sound to music students, in a variety of schools. Los Alamos High School and teacher Jason Rutledge had two classrooms enjoy that beautiful, round sound. Then the team headed to Santa Fe High School and St. Michael’s High School, to share their harmonies with multiple classrooms.
Finally, the foursome took a quick detour to the Four Corners, where they stood in all four states and sang, “Hello Neighbor.” You can watch for a video on the LALOE Facebook page.
