County Manager Steven Lynne has ordered the closure of all non-essential County government facilities for Thursday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. due to hazardous weather conditions. Atomic City Transit services save also been suspended as if 2 p.m. with Dial-A-Ride available for Route 2M, will continue to operate until 6 p.m.
Residential and commercial trash was successfully collected today, and the Los Alamos Eco Transfer station will shut down today at 2 p.m. along with the other county facilities.
County Traffic and Street crews will continue to clear the major roads and streets according to the FY24 Snow and Ice Control Plan. The community can help facilitate snow removal by parking vehicles off the street.
The County’s MyDrive site allows individuals to view the conditions of major roadways within Los Alamos County. Users should select the intersection image to activate the live feed on Rumble. Drivers are asked to slow down and be cautious of hazardous conditions.
